Drupal Back-End Junior Developer

Part-time (10-20 hrs/wk)

Job Description:

3HO is seeking a Drupal Back-End Developer who has proven experience building websites/web applications to work on both www.3ho.org and www.ikyta.org. We are looking for someone who has immediate availability to work on our websites and back-office systems. Strong knowledge of PHP, MySQL, and the Drupal API is necessary. You will be working with a small team of people and reporting to a senior developer. This is a contract position that can be done from anywhere, for a period of 6-12 months with the possibility of extension.

Qualities we are looking for:

  • Highly organized and able to work independently

  • Comfortable with fast turnaround and responsive to deadlines

  • Communicate well via phone and email, and via our PM software, Asana

  • Available for meetings by phone/skype/hangouts between 10am-4pm MST

  • Like working in teams to problem solve, share your knowledge and learn from each other

  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills, and thorough testing/QA skills

  • Good communication skills, friendly, and a sense of humor

  • Familiarity with Kundalini Yoga a plus!

Required skills:

  • Strong understanding of Drupal 7 site building using key modules like Views, Panels, and Entities/Fields

  • Working knowledge of the Drupal API, and adhere to Drupal coding standards

  • Strong capabilities in PHP, MySQL, and experience creating custom Drupal modules

  • Experience developing web solutions in a LAMP/WAMP environment

  • Experience using Git code versioning system

Preferred skills:

  • Familiarity with the APIs for Views, Entity API, Profile2, and building CTools plugins

  • Experience with Drupal Commerce, Rules, and mapping modules like OpenLayers

  • Experience with database configuration and data management
  • Basic familiarity with UX/UI design, and attention to detail

  • Experience building responsive websites using HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/jQuery

  • Experience using Drush and Devel, and CSS preprocessors such as LESS or SASS/SCSS

  • Basic familiarity with the terminal and Unix commands

  • Documentation skills, both for code and systems workflow for our staff
