This trip was definitely a journey! In two weeks I visited 4 cities and 10 yoga centers. In addition I had the blessing to facilitate a day of White Tantric Yoga in Sao Paulo as well as present in a level one Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training Program. This was the type of journey that stretched me beyond pre-conceived limitations and created the opportunity for me to grow beyond my comfort zone. This is the beauty of the path of Kundalini Yoga—it doesn’t let us get too comfortable! Can you relate to this? Once we get comfortable in our lives, our environments, opportunities, or circumstances create a predicament in which we get to stretch and go further than we thought possible. Propelling us to evolve and grow beyond preconceived limitations, Kundalini Yoga unleashes our unlimited capacity!

The pace of this journey was rapid. The most I laid my head in one place was 3 nights and most of the time it was 1 or 2 nights. Upon arrival in the city of Americana, the lovely host there, Dev Bir Kaur/Maisa, told me there were two options: either I could appear on TV or do an interview with the newspaper! This was my first time being invited to represent 3HO in this way and although a bit nervous, I leaned on Guru Ram Das and the will of God and stepped forward to serve. It was a great opportunity to promote and educate people about 3HO and you, the Global Community of Living Yoga! A newspaper article appeared in the second largest newspaper in the state of Sao Paulo, featuring the many teachers, centers, events, and service projects that happen around the world. The night of the interview, we were hosting a Kundalini Yoga and Bhangra class. We got the newspaper reporter up and dancing some Bhangra with us!

Please enjoy this photo journey and captions below that take you on a tour of the 3HO communities in Sao Paulo, Ribeirão Preto, Americana, and Rio de Janeiro. It’s beautiful to see the light and lineage of Guru Ram Das, King of the Yogis, shinning in hundreds of people!

Subhag built the center Prana Prana in the northern region of Sao Paulo’s rainforest. It is located in a lush and peaceful environment. Subhag hosts many great courses and workshops and works to create a nurturing and comfortable environment for the 3HO community and lifestyle.

Dharam Kaur works on the development of the teacher’s association, translates many Kundalini Yoga texts into Portuguese, supports community development, and serves on the 3HO Foundation International Board.

Rajwant Kaur in Surya, a Kundalini Yoga Center she started two years ago in Ribeirao Preto. Rajwant specializes in teaching yoga to children, especially those who come from troubled situations, and is passionate about serving youth in this way. She shared a great story about one of her classes where there were all girls and one boy. She started the class by mentioning, ‘We have mostly girls today,’ and the 7 year old boy said ‘That’s not true’ as he pointed to the pictures on the wall and said, ‘We have the 10 Gurus and Yogi Bhajan plus m—that is 12!’

Guru Suroop Kaur who started the mother center in Ribeirao Preto, to which Yogi Bhajan gave the name Adi Shakti do Alegre Viver, which is a 3HO Yoga Center Partner. Guru Suroop nourishes collaboration and community between the 4 yoga centers in the city and amongst teachers and students. It was a true joy to meet one of the 3HO Yoga Center Partners in the more remote city in the interior of Sao Paulo state and experience the vibrancy and dedication of the community.
